
Auli Gorson Bugyal takes you on a journey across diverse landscape covered with lush green rippled meadows that are totally awe inspiring. Dotted with wild flowering fauna, the trek has ethereal beauty that casts a magical spell on the beholder making this trek one of the most sought after treks in the Garhwal region of the Himalayas. The massive Oak and Deodar trees add to the mystic charm of the region and are truly a great sight to see. The breathtaking view of the majestic Nanda Devi surrounded by the rich array of colours leaves you spellbound. Apart from the rich flora and fauna, the region has mountains blanked with snow during the winters which woos the skiers and thus making it a popular skiing destination.
The string from Auli to Gorson, is just 3 km long which includes Neelkanth Temple, the crystal clear mountain lake: Chattrakund, Nanda Devi National Park and Tapovan: the hot water natural springs that are considered to be medicinal and cure to many skin diseases. Apart from these every spot on the trek is full of scenic beauty making it a renowned visiting destination.
Auli was blessed by Guru Adi Shankaracharya, who had tread on these fields in the 8th century and also built the existing temple Shankaracharya Tapasthali.
